Really enjoying Africa on BBC One at the moment. But then again, I’m a sucker for a David Attenborough wildlife documentary…17 January 2013
Also…I’m still around. Is it too late to say happy new year?
This guy is on absolute fire at the moment.10 goals in 12 league games is a great return, and he’s single-handedly dragging Liverpool towards January where we’ll hopefully be able to add more goals to the team. I’ve never really seen him as an out-and-out goalscorer, but he’s proving a lot of people wrong at the moment. Long may it continue!17 November 2012
I haven’t really written much about Liverpool for a while (or anything else, for that matter) so thought I’d share a few thoughts on our start to the season. It’s been disappointing, true, but we’ve put in some good performances in a difficult start, and we’ve been on the end of some questionable decisions. The club is united at the moment, though, and the vast majority of fans are firmly behind Brendan Rodgers. I put myself in that camp, too – he’s destined for big things, and I hope those things happen at Anfield.
Bleurghhh! I’m having such a busy time at the moment! Lots of work to do, thinking about jobs on top of that and the weeks are flying by. I can’t believe we’re almost hitting November – has anybody seen 2012? So, this post is literally worse than useless, but I just wanted to stick my head above the water.
Oh, and also I saw The Perks of Being a Wallflower this week which I really enjoyed. Wasn’t really sure what to expect, as I haven’t read the book, but I heard good things about it and it didn’t disappoint.26 October 2012
Well, that was pretty amazing. With something like an opening ceremony, it’s difficult to please everybody. Danny Boyle, though, did an absolutely fantastic job, and that is a view held by the massive majority. The stadium looked absolutely beautiful, and, although I loved the green, the industrial revolution sequence that tore up the grass was such a spectacle. James Bond jumping from a helicopter with the Queen seems to be a lot of peoples highlight. The NHS segment, which I feared was going to be unbelievably cheesy, was brilliant. Caught up on the post-athletes section this morning, and it was amazing. The seven young athletes lighting the cauldron was inspired, and the cauldron itself – the way it formed inparticular – was just stunning. Really incredible stuff.28 July 2012

Just another reason to love Liverpool.22 April 2012
Watched a brilliant film last night, called Boy A. It’s a few years old, but one of my friends suggested it a while ago and I’ve only just got round to watching it. It tells the story of a child killer being released back into society, with a new identity.
The power of the film is its simplicity. Andrew Garfield does a fantastic job of portraying a man troubled by his own past, appreciating the simple things in life for the first time. The story is really interesting, revealing in flashbacks what happened earlier in his life, and you feel real sympathy with somebody trying to wipe his slate clean. Really thought provoking, and one of the best films I’ve watched recently.19 March 2012
I wanted to write something about this yesterday when it exploded, but I didn’t have the time. If you haven’t seen the Kony 2012 video yet, watch it and share it. I know that there are some people saying that the charity is a bit dodgy, but I think it’s grown beyond that and is very much about raising awareness. A very intriguing experiment, and an example of the sheer power of social media.8 March 2012
Today’s been a good day. Six years without a trophy, but today Liverpool did it the hard way and were rewarded with the League Cup. Sure it’s not the most glamorous cup, but success breeds success and hopefully it will be the first of many.26 February 2012
